WANTED: High School Students!

The MN ASM materials camp will provide a hands-on experience
into the world of materials science and engineering

 

Who:

  • Students entering their Junior or Senior year in high school in Fall 2021
  • Inquisitive learners with strong math and science aptitude

What:

  • Six hours of live instruction over three days
  • Optional virtual factory tours and career talks about materials engineering
  • A unique science experience under the direction of industry and education based “Materials Mentors”
  • Hands-on at home mini-demonstrations to actively explore materials science and engineering principals

Where:

  • Virtual  (anywhere with an internet)

When:

  • August 3 - 5, 2021
  • 9:00 am - 11:00 am each day

Cost:

  • Free to Students
  • Materials for some demonstrations will be provided to students

How to apply:

How are students chosen:

  • This is a competitive application process
  • Students must have basic knowledge of algebra, chemistry, and physics and describe why they want to learn more about engineering and materials science
  • Students entering their Senior year will be given a higher priority in the selection process
  • Experienced practicing engineers will review each application to select the winners
  • Students must have a strong interest in applied science
  • Selections will be announced about July16
